Quick question for the brain trust. Yesterday after raking hay I lost all brake pedal. Still have all other hydraulics but push down on the pedals and they go straight to the floorboard - no stopping. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thinking about my 1020... Simple things first - Is linkage all connected? Hydraulic fluid full? Brake line between left and right side rear housings still attached and not broken?

Just a quick check before you go any further is make sure the remote leaver is in the neutral position and not in the full forward position. When my 1520 is in this position the 3 point hitch will not raise.

Yes linkage connected and no line leaks. I did notice a few days ago leak down of the right (outside) pedal if I had to hold it a while. Was working ok when I started yesterday and 2 hours later nothing.

Hyd brake reservoir on JD utility tractors such as your 1520 has oil supplied to brake valve by trans pump. 1st thing I recommend is bleeding both sides. If you push both pedals simultaneously will brakes hold or do pedals still bottom out?

As Jim said, I think you need to bleed the brakes. We had a 401C industrial (similar, newer tractor) that would require bleeding every few weeks. Loosen the bleed screws on to each final drive, pump until solid stream of fluid, close bleeder.
