1520 John Deere Value

Hey All, I have ran across a 1520 John deere in an estate that is coming up for sale. Tractor is a one owner (for real) guy purchased brand new and tractor has never been sold. The tractor seems unique in several ways to me. It has a factory canopy and roll gaurd, remote hydraulics, power steering, weights, it has a lever on the dash to shift the transmission from high to low (like a T/A?) and it has the axles that the rim slides out on the rear axle instead of a bolt on hub like a utility model. Is this a row crop version of some sort? Also has 38" rubber on the rear with gives the tractor a much taller stance. Any help with a value or rarity of this tractor would help. I did not get the hours but tractor cranks great even at freezing temperatures. Was told most of its life was spent grinding feed in a feed mill. I drove the tractor and the lift, steering and brakes work great as well. paint is dull but not rust or welds on the tractor anywhere. Very straight original old tractor. not sure how to post a picture or I would.

Been nice to of known the hours. Though you have to be careful not to trust hourmeters. Tractor house . com would be a good place to find some ASKING prices. Sounds like nothing rare ? but the fact it sounds like an unmolested one owner which is rare ! Good luck at the auction. But if it's like estate auctions around me it will go sky high.

Sounds like a row crop model, rack and pinion axle, hi-lo shift. They are a very good tractor,similar in construction to a 2030 but a bit smaller (3 cylinder?) In Ontario, that tractor would be in the 6000 thousand dollar CAN range if it had around 6000 hours or so. Ben

I just sold a one owner 2030 gas in perfect original condition with 3700 original hours that never did field work,only mowing and snow removal with a rear blade.I sold it for $5600.Tom

Sounds like there are still a few really nice ones left out there.
Many of those tractors here in Ohio spent there whole life on Dairy farms as loader and scrapper tractors. They had long hard lives !

It's a row crop utility, I think the tag will say RU on it. Gas or diesel engine?
