I have a 1520 that is leaking fluid at the bottom of were the three point hitch attaches to the tactor. There is a round bar that slides in and out of the bottom the tactor and that is where the leak is. Should the be a replacable seal there?

Yup, there are seals in there but thats probably not the only issue. You will have to drain all the hydraulic oil out. Check the bar for any wear, if you can catch your finger nail on it it should be replaced. Also there are bushings in the transmission housing, its hard to see the wear. I usually replace them. If the shaft is worn badly the bushings should be replaced, They can be expensive though

JD recommended only changing bushings "when necessary" from excess wear due to enlargement of hole in trans case from changing bushings frequently.

That is correct, but in my part of the country there are very few 20 series that i have seen that didnt need them replaced. Most of them have been used and abused. I should have added that i usually replace them because i dont like doing a job twice. I have opted not to replace them before only to have the unit leak a couple weeks later and then we have to eat the labor and parts.

Are the seals on the inside of the bushings? How do you remove the old bushing?
