I have a JD 1530 when you start it the steering goes to the right and will not return. It is also pushing fluid out the top of the column. I have replaced the 6 orings in the steering houseing and that didn't help.Could I have got some bad orings? Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

If you got all 6 large o-rings in correct lands then my guess is one of the control valve housings(part # AR81610 @ $1382.19)has failed. There's a small valve that can be viewed after valve assembly has been removed from cast housing.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any way to tell if the valve has failed by just looking at it? Is there anyway to test the valve?

It's been a long time, but I had a steering valve go bad in a 1020. The service manager told me to shine a light in the fill hole behind the seat and if I could see oil flowing, the valve was leaking by. Maybe this'll jar something loose in the mind of somebody who knows a lot more about it than I do and they can get you on the fight track.
