I've had it running and actually mowed with it several times. Fuel supply is clean, tank clean, carb cleaned twice, choke NOT sticking open. This is one of the strangest running small engines I've ever experienced. I've been running it with the cover off so I can see what the carb linkages are doing. Sometimes the governor will yank the throttle shut. Other times its just the choke and throttle doing a crazy dance. This experience made me think I'm not even going to waste $20 on a new plastic carb. I do kind of like this mower since the bagging system is superior to the older system and the AWD system seems to be in great working order.
A couple days before I picked up this mower I'd purchased another Personal Pace mower as a backup for $40. This mower had a good running 190cc flathead Briggs like the one on my other mowers. This afternoon I decided to just tear into this mess and hope for the best. It was absolutely shocking that the old style, motor fit in and even the crank was correct, just had to swap blade cradles.
I'm walkin' in tall cotton today, AND in the future I'll be avoiding the plastic carb OHV Briggs engines.
