1650 Injection Pump

Hi I am looking for an injection pump for 1650 diesel tractor. I have come across a link which suggest a Massey Ferguson with a 354 Perkins would fit. Can anyone confirm this?

I doubt it, Perkins used a CAV and I think 1650 has a Roosa Master.

You will need the Oliver/Waukesha specific pump, and there were two used on the 1650 depending if it's the early energy cell head, or late direct injection head.

You would have to wonder what kind of shape the rest of engine etc is in if someone stole the pump off of it? Unless you know what you have I would be leery in spending too much on a pump only too find out something else is awry? Like Dieseltech said first you need to check if direct or indirect? Around here you would stand a better chance of finding direct injection pump. Direct replacement off of 1650 obviously, 1655, 2-70 white, for sure without any adjustments. I would think you would have to turn fuel down if you found one off of the Direct injection 310's such as a 1750, 1855 etc. but they should work as well. Indirect models would be late 880 that had the Roosa ,1600,early 1650, and 1800.

From what is left of the serial number this unit is a 1967 second generation tractor. Would that make it a late direct injection head?

Is there a second place to find the serial number?

Hi tom upton: Thanks for the alternatives. You are right about the unknown. From what I know the tractor was running OK before the pump was removed. With a list of optional source of alternative I hope to pick up a test unit to see if I am right. So thanks for the list

The goal is to see if the tractor is worth fixing or should I just scrap it. I am more on the side of fixing but do not want to invest a lot of dollars to find out it is a scrapper tractor.

The 310/283 pump will work just to see if the engine is good, the max fuel setting is the main difference on the 310 pump.

Thanks Dieseltech. Since I also have a 1750 tractor I could use the pump off it to test the 1650 as long as I do not try high rpm's.

The lo/hi engine speeds are the same on both direct injected engines.

Thanks for all the information. I now have a way to test this tractor without spending a lot of dollars, I just have to work on a time to implement the test. More questions will follow as I proceed.
