1650 motor into 880

We came across an old 880 diesel that had been sitting in the woods for years. The tractor had sat with the exhaust open and the valve cover off. The owner's son had started to do a shade tree valve job and quit. Then the owner got the bright idea to open the pan drain to let the water out after it had sat for some time. Then they just gave up on the tractor. It has been sitting outside at least 15 years. So, the crank and cam are rusted, the fuel pump is locked, and the engine is really seized. The price was cheap, and we hauled it home. We checked the transmission, and it was clean with just a little water in it. The hydraulic pump looks good.
We have an old 1650 gas motor, and we are thinking that we should just replace the diesel with it. Is the 1650 gas a direct replacement or is there some additional work to be done to use the engine? This may become our winter project. The tires are dry rotted but hold air and the tin is decent. the tractor looked too good to be scrapped.

I'd have to think the only issue would be going from diesel to gas, not 1650 to 880. Wiring and throttle linkage, but should be a direct bolt up otherwise.

I believe the bell housing is too wide for the tub but you wont have any issues as you have the parts on the 880 engine that you will need that bolt right up to the 1650 engine. ie: the bell housing adaptor plate that bolts to back of engine, flywheel and clutch assembly including the PTO drive hub, bell housing and driveshaft tube and coupling.
