My dad has a 175 diesel. We cant figure out where the coolant is going. Its not getting into the oil. Its not leaking while parked. but he has to add to it every time he uses it. Any ideas? Thanks ,Bradley

How much coolant are you adding to the radiator? You will not need to add any more, than to cover the radiator core. If you add too much coolant, it will spill over when the engine heats up.

Another possibility might be a leaking head gasket. You can check this by starting the tracktor, and letting it warm up. Then open the radiator cap (carefully, so you don't burn yourself), and observe the fluid. If bubbling is present, then the head gasket is leaking.

There is a good chance your rad cap is faulty and allowing coolant to go out overflow. Does it overheat? Why is he checking all the time?
