1750 stopped moving

good morning, I have just bought a 1750 gasser, late one with over under. the older gentleman that I purchased it from
said he was driving down the road and it all of a sudden just quit moving, no clunk, no noise, just quit, motor running
fine. over under had worked flawlessly . they pulled it home and put it in the shed , hadn't moved since. I plan on
restoring it, have done several, so first thing pulled long shaft . took off the fenders, the three point arms, seat because
I was told it was the top shaft in the transmission. now it would operate in the lower "h" of the tranny, the 6th side and
would go into gear, but when I went to the upper set of gears the stick would only move and inch or two left and right,
took the top off the tranny and don't see anything wrong. now im told its to the back more in the rear end, took all the
bolts out of the unit with the hydraulic unit, three point cylinder, with the intentions of removing it, but seems I have
forgot something as it wont lift. what am I doing wrong?? if you say go find a repair manual, fine where do I find them
does Floyd county have them? thanks much for any info

Look for a couple more bolts NOT around the base mounting flange. I haven't worked on a 1750 but on the 1550 there were two longer bolts around the hyd. filter area.

Like Mike said, two long bolts either side of the filter. There are two dowels in it too, one is above the oil pan and the other under, so it makes the pan want to come up with it at one end and and stay down on the other. It takes some finesse to get everything loose.

Silent events that lead to a 50 series stopping are often chain coupler failures. Had my 1650 do that back when I was younger and did not know how simple a fix it was. My big panic was for nothing. A couple of years later the splines failed on the Same chain hub and again I was in a big panic until I found out how easy it was to repair. Both times the tractor just stopped moving with the engine running. Did you check those parts?
