1755 hydraulic issue

I replaced the hydraulic pump on the tractor, it took awhile for it to pick up oil but then it finally did.. problem was it was leaking from a fitting. So I replaced the o ring which appears to have stopped the leak. Now the pump just isn't picking up oil. I have no hydraulics whatsoever on the tractor any suggestions. Thanks

How did you bleed the system? A local factory uses those pumps for industrial service. They loosen the output line at the pump about 1/2 turn to help bleed them before the machine back up.

Did you fill the new pump with oil before installing it? Did you bleed the filter before starting it? If your old pump came apart internally did you take the pressure control valve assembly off and disassemble it ? Most of the time when those pumps go bad they contaminate the pressure control valve assembly with metal. Especially the unloader valve.I always disassemble that assembly whenever I replace a pump. Even if there is no metal in it the o-rings should be replaced because of the extra heat produced by the old pump. Plus a lot of times the pressure relief valve shims deteriorate and need replaced.

Thanks for the comments. I did fill it with oil and bleed, but I didn't replace all the o rings etc.. I've got a "tractor guy" that is going to look at it this week and I'll show him what you said. Thanks

Ok. We did bleed at the pump.
