18.4x38 tires

What"s the going rate for new 18.4x38 tires?

I"m needing a new set with new rims to go on my IH 806D.

Who makes a good tire? Firestone, Goodyear, other? Recommendatons?

I vote for Firestone bias ply with 38 degree lugs. I've had good luck with them. Last pair I bought was $875 but I imigine they're higher now.

I really like firestone field and road tires. Seem to wear good and last a long time. I have bouht 2 sets, and am planning on a third this spring.

I would recommend Firestone Radial 23 degree,prolly about $1600 A pair,Bob.

Firesone feild and roads have been discontinued so once current stock is gone thats it. Many sizes are already sold out. They have been replaced by a bias tire thats a cross between the F&R and the 23 degree preimium bias. Of course they have retained the preimium price.

Firestone has been the best for me and I really like their radials. Bias and radial are heavier than the competiton and seem to have deeper lugs. I have not had good luck with Titan--original equipment-- and have swapped them off tractors i bought and replaced with Firestone. That's just my personal experience.

I just bought new Firestone radials for my 9600 John Deere combine and they were 850 dollars each. They seem like a good tire.

Whatever you decide you need to get it done. Prices will go up in a month or two for all brands. Oh, and I like Firestone the best.

18.4"x34"

I bought a pair from Every's Tire in Colesburg, Iowa 563 856 3135. I put these on a D-19 I use for hauling corn to town on concrete road, and also on tractor ride's. Been 8 years and over 3,000 miles of ride's and many trip's with corn wagon. I've been very satisfied. The Rear's are Titan's. He also sell's other brand's.

I'm ten miles from Colesburg, just wondering where in NE Iowa you were from.

Put new on my 856 last summer cost 1000 put on. They are a long bar short bar kind of a generic- Kelly Springfield maybe. They are what coop puts their name on and sells as coop brand. They are what was on the tractor before and the old ones lasted 15 years. I put firestone on the 1486 and I like them well, but they cost more and I haven't run them enough to see how I like them. Dry or damp soil? Sandy or clay? High draft loads?
Firestone R1W radials pull like a son of a gun in loose soil. On hard dry flat surfaces you want R1 radials.
