I have a stock 1800 gas engine. Wanting to stroke and bore it for pulling. What is the max bore without hardening the block? 4 inch? also the crank, does anyone sell kits already for doing this. I am sure with as many pullers as there is someone does. Engine work is no prob. I have heard chevy 350 4" pistons will work because they have the same wrist pin placment is this true? Any help or info in the right direction would be great. thanks

Although I have never done it, I have talked to people that have bored the block and used John deere 4020 sleeves and Chevy 427 pistons. This makes the bore 4 1/4". This was in an 88 engine. The flanges of the sleeve have to be machined flat on each side down to the diameter of the main part of the sleeve. If you don't do this, the sleeves will hit each other.

Thanks for the reply. Not alot of ppl read the threads about the bigger olivers. I guess i am going to try the chevy pistons, and figure out the rods and crank.. unless someone else out there knows anything
