1800 gemmer unit fix

I have a leaky ol gemmer unit on an 1800 oliver. Maibach wants around $800 to rebuild, the kit is $159.00...said there is some machine work that has to be done...what other options is there? Anyone have a good used unit?

Smart move. What series 1800 do you have? You will also need a couple of instruction sheets. You have e-mail?

Hi Dave,

We have parts on stock for the Gemmer PS Head used on your OLIVER 1800-A series tractor. The Late 770/880 tractors also used the Gemmer PS Head.

My apologies for taking away from your thread. But, I have the same problem out of bottom of mine. I replaced the seal but I think it unseated. I may try a new one again. If you decide to part with your unit, let me know. I may try some experimentation with the two units to figure out where the problem lies. It works fine otherwise so having a seal unseat is unusual is odd to me. Chances are, I missed something. I bet John S. would know. He is the master!
