Anyone ever replace mesh in cleaner body? How u get it apart?
Is there a paper filter to replace mesh with and eliminate oil bath?

Have taken apart an air cleaner in an 88 by grinding out the spotwelds. Pulled out the mesh and washed crud out of it and reinstalled it. I think I used pop rivets to secure bottom retainer in. Steve.

If you have it off already, just soak it and blow it out.

I've used purple power. Turned it upside down and used rubber plugs in the openings and let it soak overnight. Flush with hot water. Set in a 5 gallon bucket in case the plugs leak. Works but takes a while to dry out.

Bucket of gas, swash it up and down till clean, blow off as others have said.. Works fine.
