Picked up this 1800A last night. At first thinking just for parts, but other than what seems like a carb float setting issue, manifold leaks, radiator missing, steering stiff, it seems to run decent. At least well enough to drive it on the float, so looks like another project to bring it back to working order? Maybe even in time for some spring work so I better get off the couch and get at it! There is something about the look of a A series that says "save me please"

I have a go-worker who has one very similar, his also being a gas. He has mentioned a few times that he wants me to give it a thorough tuneup, but when he checks on the replacement parts prices, he changes his mind. His sits outside all year ( with just a can in the exhaust), and he only uses it a few hours a year, but it always starts right up.
He also won’t sell it to me. 😏

I have an 1800A wheatland LPG tractor by the serial number it is the fifth 1800 made the first wheatland and the first LPG 1800, the build card shows its being built as a gas tractor then sent to engineering to be modified into LPG. It was sold new in Hillsboro Texas in 1960

I like them also. Loved the decal that got changed to the spears. Don’t get me wrong I like the spears too ! Sharp looking tractors for sure !

Parts to do a tune up are too expensive? Can you elaborate?

Nice Ford blue engine.... Nah just maken 😊 fun!
Exceptional condition for the age. Have you figured out what year it is? Ross just had a video pretty recent on working over his alum. carb on his tractor. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the saving another right color machine! GG Wes

Has to be older than 62 they came out with b series in 62 they tried to fix the problems with the a seres

1800a gas was the first big tractor I ever drove. Pulled 5-16s on a muck farm I worked at during high school. Had a great sound to it. Hard to believe it had the same displacement as a super 88.

Yah not sure why someone would paint engine blue. Fuel tank is blue as well. It has the cast TSX 807 carb. I am thinking the Aluminum USX came on B and later, but not sure? You prompted me to check serial tag and its the same year as me 1961! Shares some similiarities as well - needs a fair bit of fixin!

Nice deal. Guess that means I need to be on the hunt for a 1974 1655! We have the 1755 diesel, 1855 Cockshutt gas. Ross' (Ross the Oliver man on YouTube) neighbor brought him a family owned since new 1655 diesel. He's gonna give it sprucing up, it's a sharp looking original.
Good luck with your projects. GG Wes
