1841 remote hydraulics

Looking to have remote hydraulics on 1841. From my understanding the 18xx series is same mechanically as the 8xx series.
If I have the plate under the seat I can use the adapter plate as long as I loop the system together when not in use.
Am i on the right track here?
What flow would be expected with this set up?

Thanks, jeff

As usual my pictures disappeared

You can use that adapter plate under the original blocking plate, but as you said, you would need to keep the power and return lines looped together when nothing is connected to them.

Depending on what you intend to use the remote ports for, you may want to replace the blocking plate with a true remote valve. They are more convenient and more expensive, but when you use the adapter plate you will need to add another external valve to control the remotes anyway, and fabricate some method of mounting that external valve. The choice is yours, but be aware of everything that will be needed in terms of parts and fabrication vs. simply buying a remote valve as part of a kit that has all of the lines and fittings and the bracket for the rear remotes included. They sell those adapter plates, as well as the remote valve kits here at yesterdays tractors.

If the hoe has it's own control valves then yes you can plumb that plate to the hoe, BUT it's going to work slow, that tractors hydraulic pump only flows 4 gpm.

Sean, just to clarify the operation of a
true remote valve kit. Is it a system with
a built in spool valve ? Or simply ports
where I can hook up a backhoe attachment
or log splitter that has its own valves?
I'm looking more for the ability to have
live ports than a working valve. What I am
wanting to use it for will have it's own
spool valves on the machinery.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks. Jeff

Hi Scout, Do you still have the 712 front end loader on your 1841? If so you can run the backhoe from the front pump. The 1801s, 4040s and 4140s were build to accept the Ford 713, Ford 723 and Sherman black panther backhoes. It come off the side of the power pak and returns to the port by the filter(s).

It is a control valve that replaces the blocking plate that you have on their now, and it comes with lines that go to the rear of the tractor that have quick disconnects. When the valve handle is centered the fluid flows on to the 3 point lift. When it is moved in either direction it provides power out one of the remote lines and opens a return path for the other. It is convenient for controlling implements or a hydraulic top link because you can just reach down and extend or retract the cylinders on the implement or top link. For a backhoe you would have to tie the handle in one position or the other with a bungee cord while operating the backhoe.

As IndFord said, if you have the front pump for the loader, that would provide better flow for the backhoe. The 3 point hydraulic pump would make for a very slow backhoe.
