1850 carburetor

Has anyone switched from an 1850 aluminum Marvel -Schebler carburetor to a cast iron Zenith carb? Winter is here and I'm trying to decide whether to rebuild the aluminum M-S carb on my 1850 or buy a replacement cast iron carb.
Has anyone been there and done that?

Look back a few days on this site. I tried. Laid out the $700 plus bucks and got a bad carb. Totally restricted internally and wouldn't even pop. Not the norm. But they didn't have another so with the help of a couple more used MS carbs I put together one that works very nice but it is old and worn. The best approach is the Zenith replacement. Also what your expectations for the tractor have to do with what you do. Good luck Arnie

So if I read these post correctly the Zenith cast iron carb is the way to go. I was having trouble with the link to the carb part dealer. I?ll try again after the Christmas holidays.
I would rather have a cast iron carb on the 1850 and one that will bolt right up.

After you enter the tractor info in the link to Riley, you should get this

Thank you! That?s a big help. I could stumble through this not
knowing what the normal fix is since I don?t live Oliver?s all the time
like you all do!
Any other advice or experiences is appreciated.
