1850 Speedometer

Hi,

Just got a "new" 1850 (perkins) and it is in really nice shape. One of the few things that needs repair is the speedometer. What should I check to get it working again?

Thanks in advance,

Fred

Unscrew the cable loose from the gauge and see if the cable turns when the tractor is in motion. That will tell you whether the cable or the gauge is broke. You can get an original replacement cable and gauge from agpartsfirst.com for a reasonable price. Open the battery door and pull the shield off above the instrument panel and it's easy to get to. Good luck and enjoy the tractor. My 1850 diesel is my favorite to drive.
