1855 ability

looking to purchase a chisel plow but not sure what my 1855 can handle any suggestions will be appreciated

About 8 shank. Six in tough soil. Buy a ten foot and see what it will handle. Can always remove shanks.

Has that 1855 engine been updated? Might make a difference how hard you want to work it.

I had a 1755 with a rebuild engine pull a 7 shank chisel plow with twisted shovels. I had fluid in the tires and about 500 lbs on the front. It originally was a 10 shank chisel plow. This is in heavy ground. Its all it wanted. But pulled it.

7-3 twisted shanks is plenty for it.
