the front weight bracket is original to the tractor , this tractor had suitcase weights , that is the starter for them, has original Oliver parts number casted into it. ive been told its a harder piece to come by , but alot of Oliver around here had suitcase weights not the slab type, but finding the weights is anther story.

Ive been at shows and seen Oliver Suitcase sets for sale. Last set I saw was at the Oliver Show in Kalamazoo MI in 2012, guy was asking $1200 for a base and 4 weights. We got lucky and bought a rear axle weight bracket for our 7300 for $250 from a salvage yard, when it got here wouldnt ya know it had two Oliver Suitcase starters bolted to it. I put them on both my 19's and just run regular White Suitcase weights. They hook the exact same way they just lack the lower handle like the Oliver/Moline weights had.

I did not know that Oliver made suitcase style weights and a bracket to hang them on {there is my lesson for the day}. I thought only the style was the stack-on's and slab weights. I knew white made the suitcase style. If I were you I would keep those under lock and key being they are hard to find!LOL

What year is you 1855?

I knew you had a weight bracket for the 1955 to use white suitcase weights on. In my area it is very hard to find Oliver weights of any kind, front slabs, stack-on or even wheel weights. Usually find them on a tractor already not being sold separate.

That is nice !

I sometimes wish I had something in the 1650 - 1855 class instead of my 990. The newer row crop tractors are just nicer and a lot more versatile, and the bigger ones have just as much or more "grunt" when it comes to doing real work.

that one is a late 1974 , it has some of the later updates , such as the add on oil cooler , gravity feed injection pump eliminating the lift pump , it has its original engine , even throw it did throw a rod back in the day like all of them did , ive completely overhauled & updated the engine , got inj. pump & turbo rebuilt. everything you see in pic. it came with from factory , have the duels wheels that came with it also , everything checks out according to the build sheet i have . Oliver did make suitcase weights , there the same as Moline used W/ the handle on top & bottom , but they didnt have (MM) casted in them , they are very hard to find & pricey . I did find a guy online that reproduces them around $125 each , if i remember right , plus shipping. but finding the Oliver starter block is the problem . i do think White's will fit on the Oliver tractor though , I know the suitcase weights will fit my 1855 starter but are shaped with that pointed style front instead of being flat like original weights would have been.
