190 injector pump

Working on my 190 diesel and almost done. had to replace rear end and trans gears. Tractor has been sitting for 16 yrs. and I have replaced all filters and flushed everything. the problem is that I cannot get fuel to the injectors. there is fuel getting to the inlet of the pump and the primer pumps up and gets hard to push the plunger in. I read in another tractor manual that the metering valve could be stuck closed. can this be accessed without dismantling the pump? this is also an extremely low hour tractor(900hrs)so im sure the pump doesnt need rebuilt.

Is it a rooso master pump?? If it is that it most likely will have bad shaft seals that need to be replace at the very least or you will end up with fuel in the oil and then end up with a locked up engine

After looking at the sevice manual i decided to pull the top off the pump and exposed the governer/shut off. it had been sitting so long in the off position that it stuck when i pulled the cable to the on position. after moving it a couple times i put back together. SWEET!!! It started right up and idled and revved perfect. just gotta do some finishing touches and the resurrecsion will be complete.

Watch the oil level very close. If it starts to get to much oil in the engine the shaft seals in the pump are bad and need to be replaced. That is a common problem if it has the rooso master pump on it. Had that problem on a 190XT and that in turn locked up the engine

yours almost sounds like a shift rail or detent problem. if you have a service manual or if youve got some prior experience remove the center section of platform, the diamond tread floor. disconnect the shift rod from the top of trans cover andremove the cover. inspect the shift forks and the detents for signs of wear. I have a full set of 190xt gears if you need them. they wouldnt fit my 190 since it is a low serial num. and actually used D19 trans parts. all said and done it cost me around 300 dollars but i did alot of searching to get what i needed. Main shaft and ring gear, 1st gear and bearings. just save my post and when u do look into the top of the trans let me know what you find. i will not be selling those gears before you have a chance to see if you need them.
