1918 Ford tractor

Guys, just finished talking to a buddy who is working on a 1918 Ford tractor. He is trying to find a manifold and carb, seems somebody needed them worse than he did. I have never even heard of this year of Ford, mainly play with the 8N and 9N. Any info about it would be a great help. He is not positive but thinks it may have a Hercules engine.

In 1918 the Fordson F was manufactured by Henry Ford and Son a company that was established to maintain tractor development separate from the Ford Motor Company. As well there was a company named "Ford Tractor Company" that built an inferior product and Henry Ford did not want to be associated with that tractor.

The Fordson F had a inline 4 cylinder gas motor designed by Ford engineers and built under contract by Hercules.

Domestic production started late April 1918. The first production (Fall 1917) run went to Britian to support the war effort. Ford won a contract to supply 5000+ tractors to aid in food production during the war.

US production end early 1928. Production continued in Britian, The Fordson F was eventually replaced by the Fordson N.

Having a Fordson tractor you need to get to know this guy. He is also a friend of mine. He is the top Fordson expert in the Ford-Fordson club.And he at last count did not know how many Fordsons he had but it was well over a hundred tractors and he also owns X-9 that the Ford museum in Dearborn decided was no longer usefull to them. His Brother owns Maplewood Implement Sales and Worldwide Tractor Parts both in western Ohio. So you can see that I will vouch for him. Dwane Helman and his Business is

He will have that manifold and if anybody would know where to get the rest of your parts that you need it will be him. Rosewood is a small town on the banks of Kizer Lake and he lives just about a mile from the lake and 3 miles from his business. His tractor parts business started out as a sideline to the main business several years ago due to his hobby.
His brother used to be a Massey Harris Dealer And they would both know me by name, both belong to same machinery clubs I belong to.

He advertises in Farm Collector magizane and am sure in others. Has parts for not only Fordson but several other makes if it has to be cast and machined.
