192 gas engine specs

Sorry, my mind automatically went to factory Ford tractor engines. For the 4 cyl. 192 industrial engine, I found this post in the archives:

4.13 bore---3.60 stroke diesel or gas. I have the Ford industrial shop manual 194-114 dated Mar 74

The 65 - mid 68 4000 gasoline tractors use a 192 CI three cylinder engine. The diesel versions used a 201 CI engine. Later gasoline versions use the 201 CI gasoline engine having the same bore and stroke as the 201 CI diesel engine.

Correct.

I just did the math and it works out to 192.9 CI.

I have one of these engines that I plan to install into my 64 Ford 4000 S-O-S.

I will probably use it for odd jobs only. It will use too much gasoline for heavy work and will not be needed for such since the T4050 and MF 533 are arrived.

It's the only vintage Ford in my collection with PS aside from the 961. I usually leave the boom pole on it.

My 192 is a converted natural gas engine. The natural gas engines have a CR of about 9.25:1. It should be close to 70 PTO HP.

Interesting.

My 951 was a lp engine, converted to gas. I wonder how much difference it's comp ratio is from 'normal'..?

just noticed you said power steering.

nice... My only PS machines are my 5000 and 7610s. though I've rebuilt the boxes in most of my manuals and they steer good except the laoder ones are 'popeye' steering.. :)

The difference in CR is almost a point and a half in a 192. It will be a bit less in a 172 due to the reduced bore but probably good for 3 - 5 HP.

Sure wish I could figure out how you did that! I can't find any archives beyond 2006!
I have been wanting info on the 192 for some time & can find none. Do you have an idea on horsepower? And where can I find that manual?
Thanks for the help.

In the "search for" box at the top of this page, search for "192 industrial bore stroke." That answer was found in the fourth post listed.
