I have a chance to buy a 28 D completely rebuilt with all new carb, mag, pistons. It is on complete factory steel in excellent shape. It is not painted and fenders are not mounted. But is there still value left in these kind of tractors, or have they run their course? I am afraid with all the money put into the many new parts that the price may be high too high for what it is worth. The price is $3500. Any thoughts?

How many good unstyled Ds are out there with complete steel and so many new parts? I am guessing it is worth the money.

A beautiful restored 1936 D on steel recently sold in ohio for 3500. Those things have dropped in price.

That is a pretty good price- My 1928 D - I have probably twice that invested - in hindsight, I should have bought a running tractor, not a seized, very worn machine -it was a good challenge and the first start up was worth every penny spent!!!!!!

Tractor collecting and restoring won't make economic sense. You have to want to do it despite the costs.
