1929 gp timing

When timing the magneto on 1929 gp
what is the left hand impulse mark
on the flywheel supposed to line
up with ? I don't see a line on
the tractor like my other tractors
have . Anyone know ?

get it at TDC on compression for that cyl. and see where the mark is pointing.

owners manual says to turn flywheel until L.H. Impulse in line with mark on spline shaft cover.

Ok I found the mark . Actually the spline shaft cover has a mark above each of the 4 bolt holes ( I think it is marked that way so it has a timing mark in the correct spot no matter how you have it turned when you put it on) so if I have a base mount wico c mag do I still have the mag trip with the timing marks on the flywheel lined up ? I noticed the owners manual said put the timing control at full retard when timing ( but that's for the original mag Wich I do not have )
