1931 GP Beaner

Hey Everyone,
I recently picked this GP Beaner up over by Holland Michigan from a guy who has had it sitting in a barn for 40 years. It has the offset F&H front wheels, the wider front axle, and then the real wheels are turned around with the "H" brace between the housings. The big downfall to it is it's missing the tag but based off the casting date of 3-13-31, I assume it's a 31. The odd part about it is that it has a small bore block and head in it but it does have the big bore manifold on it along with all of the other parts that would put it in that big bore timeframe. Has anyone ever seen that?

I had a eary 29 GP that had a main case date stamp of 32. After looking at other part numbers I had one final drive that was a later part number as well. My tag was missing to. I would guess that at some point the main case was changed and the tag was never swaped over. Are the holes for the tag or old rivits even there?
Mine didn't even have holes where the tag should be.

Yup, both rivets are there and outside of the block and head, everything else would show that the tractor is later than serial number 226402.

I purchased a 31 GPWT that had a big bore engine, but small bore manifold, carb and air cleaner on it. I was hopeing for something odd maybe when I researched the serial number but nothing showed up

(quoted from post at 17:27:16 07/18/13) What does the "Beaner" designation refer to?

A GP Beaner is just a special variation of the GP. They have a wider center to center wheel distance for farming edible beans, hence the nickname beaner. They are not all that common and I believe most all were shipped to Michigan.

They have a wider front axle, rear wheels are reversed and special offset front wheels. They can have a swing seat and also an "H" frame brace that runs between final drives for extra support.

Dang haha. As soon as I go back to the pavilion at moline ill run my serial number. I had hopes of getting my GP in the shop this winter but it seems that other projects keep taking the rebuild slot. Mine is just few numbers away from the last number change, and I bought a 29 and 31 D, its unfortunate because its going to take both of them to make one, so I thought having a 31 GP and a 31 D, both on full steel would look kinda sharp.
