1937 John deere b question

Was wondering if any could help me. My dad has a 1937 John Deere b was repainted in 1992 and never got decals in it. He finally just ordered them and then recently passed. This tractor has been passed down 3 generations so now I need to finish it. Where do all these little decals go any help will be greatly appreciated

So I just got confused on the picture you posted does the decal you label crank case ventilator does that go on the pipe where you wrote crank case ventilator. And also I should ask the John Deere and general purpose decal looking at pictures it looks like it's just centered in the tank is that right

No.

The reference book does not give a specific location.

Pure speculation on my part, but it was probably on the end attached at the governor.

The reference book does not give a specific location other than "[i:654c4848f0]on hood sides[/i:654c4848f0]>".

James: You have a united oil bath air cleaner on a Donaldson air cleaner. A united air cleaner does not have the band type clamp to hold the cup on. They use 2 wing nut equipped bolts.
dir 118 should be for the breather that is on the crankcase cover sticking up back behind the governor housing. There is a little element in there that you are to clean out.

Hey Mike Kevin here that posted the first question. I'm sorry but I am very dumb when it comes to the stuff um where is the governor housing that that decal goes on about cleaning out every ten hours.

Agree.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]AIR CLEANER</I>[/b:654c4848f0] below.

Note that the air cleaner body (Key 10) is the United that you mentioned above.

Since both the Donaldson and United were designed for the unstyled Model B, maybe the folks that make these decal kits should include a correct decal for each air cleaner.

Wonder who in China we could suggest this idea to?

There is a breather stack that unscrews so you can add engine oil to the crankcase. That service decal may go ( I think there is room ) on the cover just below where the stack unscrews.

I actually had this air cleaner decal issue with a well known USA maker and seller when I got a decal kit for a JD H.

Kevin: I went back up and looked at James last pic of the clutch cover decal. You can see the breather stack in that pic. It is up on top between the steering support post and the magneto.

I bet it does if the correct police show up. lol. I can't recall where I put mine at ? Maybe I can check later. I think back when I did mine I checked with the correct police as to where it went.

I know that was probably a dumb question Im sorry I'm just really nervous to finish this dad and I were supposed to do this together and now he's not here so I just wanted to do things right for him and Gramps. Deere decals for probably 25 years. He
WILL know the answers to your placement questions. He'll probably need your
serial # to be absolutely sure.

FWIW: Mine is readable from the flywheel side. Easy to see to be reminded every time you start it up.

Ok thank you now I have another dumb question I really don't know much about tractors and I'm prolly the last guy that should own one lol. So to get to that filter to clean it us it really as simple as undoing those bolts and raking the vent pipe off to get to that filter

The breather pipe base unscrews from the engine top cover. There is to be a breather element in there that is a metal part that just sits in there. It is possible your is gone.
