What determines if it is a short frame or a long frame. I also have a 1937, and the pedestal looks like this one. Thanks

The "Long Frame" Model B began with SN 42,200 in late (November) 1937. They were approximately 5 inches longer then the previous short frame models and the stretch allowed a set of cultivators that fit an A to now fit a B also. The first 2000 B's only had a 4 bolt mount pedestal while all after that used 8 bolts.

Heres my 1938 Long Frame

Bob,

The short frame B was manufactured until serial number 42199. It was a cast iron frame. The long frame was introduced so the B could use the A tractor implements. The long frames were angle iron frames. The pedestals were the same.
