It's the same motor as a Model A Ford and 1942 trucks,a 120ci flathead 4 cylinder engine.

Like Bruce said, the 9N engine was a totally different block than the Model A, or even the early V8's as well. The '39 and '40 Ford Trucks used the 9N engine as well. Ford's version of the GPW ( JEEP ) also used the 9N block, modified. The TORO/Worthington tractors also used the 9N engine too. Lastly, the 1943 Ford-Ferguson Moto-Tug was designed with the 9N engine and chassis see AD post above.

I think you should bump those years the 4 cylinder was available in trucks by two to 1941-'42. In 1941 it was listed at 34hp, and in 1942 it got a whopping 40 hp rating- I guess that extra hole in the block (for the now required mechanical fuel pump) was letting some extra horsepower out!

OK, I visited the tractor for personel visual... My friend used the serial number 26319 to look up the year. However, He didnt notice the 'TO' also on that ID plate. So, TO-26139 indicates he has a 1950 TO20... Thanks for the replys.

10-4. I know that the 4-spoke steering wheel on the 9N was also used on '39+ buses at the time too. The exception was the bus wheels had a horn function. I think the center chrome cap was different as well.
