I have an A with electric start. Is the lever you push with your foot to start it the original set up?I read an add that said "original push button on the dash" Which is correct? mine has the foot pedal. Thank you Dean E Minn

I think it may depend on the serial # Very early ones might of had a push button,( i think it's in the parts book ) but later ones like mine 1946 A and 1945 B have a lever you can push with your foot.

Well yours might be early enough to of been push button. Maybe someone has a parts book handy and can check it for you. I think jdparts.com lets you download these old books now.

According to parts manual,PC675, both the push button (solenod type switch) and the foot pedal switch were used from 477000 to 502231. Both are shown in the manual with no designation as to which tractor had which switch.
