Still trying to get this B back together so I can hear her run. Is it ok to run it on just gas? The little tank was not even hooked up, and there is gas in the large tank so I assume thats what the previous owner did, but will that hurt anything.

Also does anybody have any idea where to get the clips that hold the bearings in on the transmission shafts, or are they just stardard clips. mine were totaly missing . Prevois owner lost them

thanks guys for all your help so far. probably more questions to come.

Andy,

No problem running the tractor on gas. If you have the original pistons, manifold and carb you can also run it on kerosene, heating oil or diesel. you will need both tanks and it will need to be running 190 degrees plus before switching to the heavier fuels.

Get the snap rings from Deere. Look in your parts book for the number.

Dad had a 38 A when I was in grade school. Ive had a 1/2doz F-20 Farmalls, and 2 F-30 Farmalls, all in the 30s, and Ive never put anything but gas in them. Ya might wanna put Eythel gas in them, as it makes them start easier. I know, Ive farmed with them every day for 43yrs. Also My 34 CC Case has never seen anything but gas.
