Still working on restoring a 1940 Case V. The seal behind the brakes has failed and working on getting the linkage, plate, and brakes out to access. Got to the yoke and rod that are around a large pin that runs from the outside of the tractor to a cavity in the cast. I believe I need to drive the pin out but can’t find a good way to remove. There was a small cotter pin in a hole just inside the cast where the pin enters, but don’t see a good way to drive the large pin from the inside and the flat part of the pin almost flush with the cast outside? The other side is worse, looks like maybe it broke at some point and was welded on the outside. Thought about drilling a hole in the end of the pin and tap a bolt to use a cup style puller or slide hammer?
Any ideas or good ways to get this pin out would be appreciated. Thanks as always for all the advice you guys provide.
Looking closer it appears I have to take the trumpet off to get access to the seal ?
