we have a new carb, battery, spark and compression but it refuses to to start!! at a lose as to what to try next. thanks in advance

Assuming fuel is present at least in the tank and the the shutoff valve is open.....

Feed it some brake and parts cleaner directly into the intake of the carb. See if it hits on that. If it does, you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't, it's a spark issue.
Assuming fuel
Open the carb bowl drain valve or remove plug, which ever you have. No fuel, find the block in the fuel feed system.
Fuel runs out, clean the main metering jet. or open it via the adjustments provided. 1 and 1/2 turns should be enough to get it to fire on the main, 1 turn on the idle. Using the choke will likely be needed.

If spark problem, Check timing. Flywheel is cast with LH impulse on the wheel. Line up LH impulse with the frame rail, typically LH impulse will set at the 9 o'clock position or close there to. You should hear a click when LH impulse crosses the frame rail on the LH plug. Correct wiring from mag if RH plug fires. Reset timing if LH plug fires out of time.

Hope this provides some direction to go on.

Make sure that you have fuel as instructed above.

Some of the new carbs sold here take an extra turn on the idle screw to get them to start compared to the old ms ones mine it wasn’t close to the old 1 1/2 turns.

Give it a whiff of ether and see if it pops if it does work on why it’s not getting fuel.

If it doesn’t check timing there’s a mark on the flywheel that should spark when it goes past a mark on the case

gets gas in the cylinders but won't fire!!

Replace your plugs. Fouled plugs will show spark when grounded outside on the block, but not fire under compression. Or try pull starting it in high gear.

Belt that miserable deere to the oliver and have at it. Like Mark said, change those plugs, check timing, check proper proper mag post to plug wiring, things like that.
If that all works, you can shut the main fuel needle, spin it on the belt, then open that adjuster slowly until you get the mix that works. I've had to do things like that before myself.

I started my 44 B today, one turn of the flywheel ( no choke. 3/4 throttle ) after sucking in gas (full choke) turning the flywheel backward. I use to have a hard time until I discovered too much choke was bad.

Would the engine run backwards if it happened to fire when you crank it backwards? I have a 1937 B and wondering about tricks for easy starting.

In the summer it often starts in about 3 spins of the flywheel with partial throttle and no choke. This fall I have started it with full choke a few times. Sometimes takes about 20 spins, fiddling with the choke etc.

it'll run backwards for a few turns, then it runs out of fuel since it can't find any in the exhaust pipe. The carb isn't happy either in having high pressure hot air going through it backwards. However, since the mag won't fire (impulse coupling won't wind the spring running in reverse) this typically isn't an issue.

I experimented with different ideas with help from this forum and found no choke works best for me. I have a fresh mag and before, when turning it over forward with full choke, it seemed to fire for a split second and then turn and turn.. I am guessing, turning it over forward, full choke flooded it.

I only turn it backwards until I hear the gas tank gurgle., maybe a little more.

I remember starting Dads 36 B by turning the fly wheel backwards three times then taking the choke off and it would fire and run on the first or second time over. My job was cultivate row crops every day that it didn't rain. That started when I was 8 years old.
