After painting, for the life of me I cannot recall how the kerosene tank is suspended in the hood, does anyone have any photo?

Sorry, I looked through old photos of the '46 I had but none detailed the tank straps. Hopefully someone will have one under resto and can help you out.
 
The small tank is supported by the rear mount off the Gov. housing. The main tank is supported by straps that attach to the hood. www.jdparts.com for a free online parts book. Look under Fuel systems.
