1947 2n color

What is the proper color of a 1947 2n?
I see some that are all gray and some that are red and gray just curious what the correct color is.

The 2 N and 9N came from the factory all grey but over the years could have been painted any color. the 8N came grey with red belly.
My 9N is grey with red wheels. Makes it go faster

GRAY. Ones that are painted red and gray most of the time where painted that way so as to help them sell better on the used market so people would think they where getting an 8N instead of the 9N or 2N

Not a bad looking tractor Tackhammer! Wish my '47 2n looked like that! Did you paint it? If so, what brand/ color paint is it? Could use the rear blade to.

I also have to paint a 2N. Does anybody have the codes? Were they light/dark gray or all the same color? Rear rims silver & black seat? That's how most of them are that I have seen anyway.

Mo.......solid grey all over, just like factory. (yeah, silver rims and black seat is correct) Surprizingly enuff, What they are selling as Ford gray is too lite. Its claimed the gray sold for Ferguson TO-20's is exact match for 9N/2N's.......Dell yer 20/20 painter (looks good at 20 ft or 20 mph)

thanks it was 8N colors when I bought it. It is a 47 2N ser# 9N282528 I bought the paint from nnalert's in Shelby, NC I think it was tisco.

Ya but, how many beers make it go faster? Sorry, safety incorrect, one must NEVER drive a tractor after the ingestion of alcoholic beverages or drugs (even aspirin). Anyone out there 'challenged' the rule ? ;^)

Generally when I'm at a tractor show I will pretty much skip over all the 9/2Ns painted red and light gray. If I see one painted the correct dark gray I will usually stop for a closer look.

Yep rims are wrong but I don"t care. I have heard all the jokes about 16" rims. They were on it when I bought it. OCD I am not.

I use ford corporate gray... Correct are not its a Ford color,,, its normally a engine paint so go to most any auto parts store and look at the cap on corporate gray... I like it...
