I hope the linkage won"t be a big deal would apreciate any info on this thanks mike

Mike -- I think your dealer is taking you to the cleaners -- write me, or call (830-627-0430) for some good data (PatB)

i think you've been had. you can buy a good restored tractor for less than that. you need to contact an atorney. insit on seeing the bills for all the parts and get a copy of them before you say anything about a lawyer. tell him to hold off on the clutch that your out of money and then go get a lawyer quick. contact pat as he has asked.

Mike, you need to tell use who is doing your rebuilding, because I will NEVER go there. They are raping you blind!!!!

Clutch linkage is the unofficial hourmeter on old John Deeres. My 1941 A was worn just like you describe. I repaired most of it just by reaming the pin holes oversize and making new pins. If the clutch lever pivot pin needs to be removed, make or buy a puller. Don't take a chance of breaking the first reduction cover. You may need to replace the bronze clutch fork, but you can do a lot just tightening up the fit of all of the pivot points. Good luck,
Paul

I just don't understand why you wouldn't have questioned these astronomical prices?? And $2700 for a clutch? Every piece new and 2hrs labor would not add up to $2700 even if they charged $100 per hr!! Maybe they saw your Mercedes and Hummer.
