I need help. I have a 1948 TE 20. I use it on a 1 acre plot to keep the weeds under control. When i started it up this spring, it ran fine. When i started backing it out of the shed it stopped. Now all it will do is run very rough at an idle and will not accelerate. I've messed with the carb until now it will not even start. Does anyony have any suggestions? Does anyone know what is a rough setting for the carb?

I don't know much about that carb, but in general, turning the screws on a carb all the way in, then 3/4 turn out is a great place to start. You might have junk in your fuel, blocked filter, that kind of thing.

Power jet (large screw)should be turned out 1-1/4 turns and Idle air should be out 3/4 turns. Let engine warm up and the adjsut power jet so that the engine accelreartes fro idle to amx rpm smoothly. Do not position power jet screw any less than one full turn out the engine need evaporative cooling from a slightly rich mixture.
Check your spark and make sure it FAT AND BLUISH-WHITE! If it is, check the fuel delivery by opening the tank valve fully adn holding a suitable container under the car, remove the large drain plug from the bottom of the carb. Fuel should gush out continuously. If it dribbles or is intermittent, you have a blockage somewhere or the vent in the cap is blocked.
