1948 John Deere B Hood

I am trying to help my dad find a 48 B hood. Our tractor was damaged in a tornado. I think there is only one size not sure. Dad lives up around Cameron-St.Joe Missouri and I am near Kansas City. Any ideas where we might find one and what kind of price would be reasonable?

Someone on this listing should either be able to help you or point you. (PatB)

you need to know how many holes there is in the hood and if you can get an over all deminsion for it before contacting the vendors listed. i vote for mr smith. just call him nights of week ends.

I would buy a good original JD that has been restored (accept for paint) from Mc Grew Tractor Parts in Indiana before I would trust the fit and accuracy of the body lines on an aftermarket one. They have them for around $475. The re-pro is probably that much.

there should be LOTS & LOTS of very nice used ones for a 48 B. much cheaper than the new/repaired stuff. seen them go on ebay for $50.00 many are parted out call around, check ads here n elsewhere good luck.

Hey Guys, THANKS - I found a hood for him!!!!

We also found the Air Cleaner Assembly as well. 20 bucks for the air cleaner and 40 bucks for the hood and it hasn"t been cut around the muffler.

Had to remove it out in the weeds and I will probably have about 100 dollars in chiggers.

I wanted to say thanks to you guys for helping me.

Man if you guys want/need some old parts, this ole guy has them and is very reasonable in price as you can see. He has a lot more of A parts than Bs and he also has several newer like 70 720 series tractors as well. Several were propane.
