Qhile getting ready to install the spring and detent ball fo rteh reverse rail a little bullet shaped piece of iron fell out of the housing, I think it should go between the two rails but can't find anything like it in the parts manual. I'm not sure just what to do with it.

Do you know the thickness of the tabs on the 3-4 shift lug. Mine is worn allowing the shift lever to slip out. Mine now is .033 thousands. The space between lugs is .050+. Someone built it up with weld but didn't machine it down and it has since worn down. I'm thinking if I build it up to .040 and machine it that would probably work, but would like to build it up as much as possible. The shift contact knob seems to be close to specs that I seen on one of these forums. Thanks

The problem is the lug is worn enough so the shifter can get out of the track. I'm sure the 1-2 lug is worn some too so I think if I build up the one it will work. I would like to build it up as much as possible but not sure what the original width was.. The shift contact knob seems to be close to specs that I seen on one of these forums. Thanks
