1950 WD sn#

folks we have 2 45"s 3 wd"s a good friend of mine has found a wd that he says is a 1950 yr. as this was the first tractor that he had driven he missed 1 day of high school in 4 yrs to drive this tractor pulling a case disc. this happened in 1950, problem is, we cannot find a sn # at the rear where the other tractors have thers near the brake or down, do any have any ideas? thanks,, Buford

Look at the right rear axle, front side. Don"t know about the WD, but the WC had a casting date there, between the C-channel frame and the differential. Early WD had the sn stamped on top of the diff, next to the brake cover, left side, but normally stamped on the rear vertical face of the differential, left side, starting with "WD". Maybe the diff case was replaced, and the number not transferred?
