1951 8n axel nut

Park it with hole in nut down. Clean oil from hole and pin. Wiggle nut tight and loose and hope pin/piece of spring falls out.

If not, it wouldn't take me long to have the nut off with an air cutoff tool or a smoke wrench.
 
I had one that way. I took a piece of CB antenna whip, about eighth inch diameter, ground a wedge point on one end and tapped it in the slot in the axle under the broken keeper and got it out. A lot will depend on how badly it is rusted in the nut
