I recently removed the clutch drive disk to replace the clutch facings, and can't get the drive disk back on. It's on enough that it'll stay, but it's not on all the way. I've tried hitting it on with a mallet, no luck. I was wondering if maybe there was a special trick to get it back on. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Make sure your the splines with the timing marks are lined up. The drive disk should be 1/8" to 1/4" from the end of crankshaft. You do not want the drive disk flush with end of crankshaft. If it is the crankshaft splines are wore out.

If you didnt replace it on the same splines I can see how a different fit/clearance might happen. Also if its not installed in correct time/register (on corrrect splines) youre gonna get a bad vibration as things are out of balance.. When we started any pounding on it or the flywheel, we but big Bubba over on thee other end with a big piece of oak block and a heavy sledge tight to back up the pounding cross forces at the crank ends. Usually an air wrench will take those things tight into their milk.
