1951 B clutch

I recently took apart the clutch on my 1951 B and saw that the clutch plates were badly in need of replacement, so I bought new ones. One side of the plates is smooth and the other has segments with a line separating each segment that's lower than the segments. I'm guessing it matters what side goes where, but the old ones were smooth on both sides so I don't know which side goes which way. I'm hoping someone knows how they go. Also, sorry if my description of the plates was bad. Thank you very much.

It likely won't matter. It's just a different style of facing that was used to make them. With it being a friction surface on both sides it won't make any difference which way it goes on. Mike

Well I'm not sure if the old ones were originally smooth on both sides, they seemed pretty worn so I'm not sure if the other side was worn smooth or not. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a problem if they were backwards.
