1951 DC Case - Voltage Regulator

Hey All,

I'm rewiring the tractor and the new wiring harness has 2 wires that go from the generator back to the dash on the tractor. There are 3 tabs on the voltage regulator or cut out I believe it's referred to. It looks like 1 or 2 wires coming from the generator up to the regulator. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the generator and regulator? This is a 6 volt system.

Glad your keeping your's 6 volt. I am keeping my DC4 that way too. I grew up with 6 volts, 20 below winters, we all survived. Trucks and cars got started and life was
good. I looked in my DC owners manual and they just 1 wire off the gen going to the ammeter, no mention of the cut out, which has 2 wires. Case believes the 2 were a
unit and would exchange them if needed. No maintanence or repair, adjustments or anything mentioned in the manual, see an Autolite dealer. They are simple devices and
I'm sure someone will post shortly. I've the gen off mine at the moment all apart for cleaning, commutator undercutting, brushes etc. The tractor is new to me a year
ago, and I haven't had time to putz with it yet. Good luck

Here's what I have. I took a photo of my gen/cut out and then the Owners Manual wiring diagram. Hope this is helpful. The unused tab on the left upper of reg in the photo goes to the Ammeter. Larry
