1951 JOHN DEERE A PTO

My John Deere A the pro lever moves freely like there's nothing attached. No resistance. If I have to get to the mechanism?

The pin in the shifter fork is probably sheared off in the shifter shaft down at the bottom of the transmission under all the gears.

pjbofmn: I bought a 1941 B with the same issue. The PTO lever would move left to right and back with no
resistance. I happened to lift up on the lever and found that you can pull it up but it is spring loaded
back down. While lifting and holding it up I turned it as far as I could and let it go back down again. By
doing that the pin went back into the shifter mechanism and it works again. Give it a try before taking it
all apart. I hope it works for you.
