1952/8N Start up questions?

1952-8N 12 volt conversion. Ok it started up fine and ran fine. Ran for 2 min and I noticed alot of oil coming out of oil filter cannister on left side. I did replace gasket and filter. Do I need to open up again and recheck filter or ?

2. When I tried to life 3 point hitch the handle on right side of seat is pretty stuck. Moves a little. This tractor has been painted. Possible paint is keeping handle from moving? I can get off tractor and life the hitches and they are free.

Looking for a little advise. Thank you all.

When you changed the filter did you take the old gasket ring out before you put the new one in?? If you didn't that is where the problem is

I have had where the new gaskets did not work and had to clean the old one and use it again.

There is also a small copper seal ring under the head of the bolt in the top cover that may be missing, worn, or damaged from over tightening.

But did you remove the old one first?? If you didn't it will leak period
Yes sir-I did remove the old gasket and replace with the one that came with new filter. I took it all out and inserted it all back in. Putting oil in canister with new filter can cause this? Cause I did put (some) oil in canister with the nee filter

The 3 point control; being hard to move can be as simple as it not being used in a long time so if it was parks it can almost lock up from sitting
I hit it with PB Blaster and got it to move somewhat. This tractor started up really quick after sitting for 10+ years. Very happy.

There is a post from a few weeks ago all about oil, the oil filter, and the canister. Scroll down a few pages to find it. Special gasket/seal on the top clamp bolt is needed too. 12V doesn't mean you are wired correctly. Many 12V "conversions" are done wrong. Model year means nothing really, s/n only ID's year ENGINE was assembled and[assed QC Inspection. Engines got swapped out a lot. Go by if a front or a side mount distributor and early or late steering box for starters. Get the ESSENTIAL MANUALS.

Has your 3-PT passed the Lift Test? Which handle do you mean? The Touch Control Lift Quadrant or the POSITION CONTROL/DRAFT CONTROL selector? Did you try it in both positions? Is the PTO Lever Engaged?

HiYa Wore Out, it's not copper and I've tried copper B4 but it is too weak and will fail and leak as well, but may work on yours. OEM Part is 01A-6749, a tough nitryl fiber available at CNH.
