noticed oil dripping out of bottom of pan where there is a cotter key in pan hole on my tractor, just aquired tractor, run great and has good oil press when warmed up, would sure appreciate info on this. thanks

Doing just as it was set up to do. The cotter pin keeps the bell housing drain open so oil from either the rear main seal of the engine or the input shaft seal leaks the oil gets drain so as not to sock the clutch with oil

You might check the oil level in your transmission/pump/rear end. If it is overfilled by much,it might be leaking. If not there,you'll have to pull the oil pan and replace the rear main seal.

Thank you for the info, ouch, rear main seal, or input seal means engine has to come out I guess, never have done that,dont know where to start, I ordered a Ford Manual, should be here soon. Thanks Ken

And means you have a new tractor, tip # 39.

The fluid is either engine oil or hydraulic fluid.

The usual fix is add fluid when the dipstick says you need it. Fixing an oil leak means pulling the engine and dropping the crank to install a rear main seal.

Fixing a hydraulic leak is a bit easier; that only requires splitting the tractor and replacing the transmission seal.

Just make sure you do not over fill either the hydraulics and park it on level ground.
