1952 A starter model # 1108950

took the little metal sleeve off of the brush end of the starter and one of the brushes fell out along with the spring that was broken also. the brush was still attached to the little metal clip that holds it in place and it looks like it had rusted thru and someone tried to solder it back in. needless to say i think the end piece is history. the cover that protects the starter on the underside was missing and probably for a while and there were mud wasp nests up in there. any body have the brush end plate for a delco model #1108950 lying around. i think the rest of the starter is ok.its a 12 volt system and maybe could piece one back together. not finding anything around here.

Danny-I have a automotive starter/generator shop that goes over and tests starter, cleans it up and repairs it. They do a nice job but $ charge is reasonable. You might look for someone who is good at refurbishing starters if this is not your bag. The starters are a liitle work to remove and you want it right the first time.

Dan, I have a used brush plate for a 1108950 starter with 2 good springs and 4 usable brushes if your interested. $20 sent to you. Call me if interested. 641-932-8049
