1952 Brunner air compressor

My father left me this air compressor. It works really well. I was wondering if anybody could give me some insight about it and what the value may be thank you

The links don't work but if the compressor is in good working order it's probably worth about a third what a new one that size would be.

In Modern view you use the choose files button to pick the files you want from your device, not the Img button above the message box. Size in a post is limited to about 7mb whether it is one picture or the total of several.

Someone gave me a Brunner compressor, it was not working. Ten years ago I actually found someone
that had parts to rebuild it. He thought his new old stock parts were gold. I could to afford
them. There big business was something to do with milk machines, and refrigeration. Value
would be even lower if the parts are not available.

Personally I would replace a 70 year old tank before I got it up to pressure. You could make sure the thing runs and pumps safe enough but before it builds up a lot of pressure I would change the tank.

SON bought a 1964 Quincy about 10 years ago, was originally the semi-truck tire shop compressor at the DECK
Truckstop at exit 19 off I-80. It lived there probably 20 years, then was the sole compressor at a 3-bay body
shop, running very close to full time 10-12 hours a day, then it was placed into service at a small machine
shop blowing chips off parts, operating air actuated Jaws, it was a back-up compressor. Unfortunately someone
who really liked to play with blue RTV tried to tune it up and got it so it barely pumped any air, but SON
got it running pretty well, way better than I trusted the 50+ year old 80 gallon tank. We scrapped the motor
and tank 5 yrs ago, compressor is ready for a new tank and probably 5 hp 220V motor. I have a 7-1/2 hp
Porter-Cable 80 gal 2 stage compressor that should last many more years. I REALLY wanted an Ingersol-Rand but
this P-C was several Hundred Dollars cheaper.
You have to be careful of which compressor you buy nowdays, the compressor companies all import foreign
built compressors to sell at much lower prices than the durable US built models.
