1952 JD 60 Rims

Am working on 1952 JD 60. The rims that were on it a Done from chloride. They have the two ribs running around the inside that the wedges held them to the Hubs. each rib had one "drive lug on it. There were 8 wedges per wheel, matching the 8 bolt holes in the hub. I'm not finding new ones to replace them. Most have loops.
What can I get to work with the hubs???? What are they off of??

This is what’s on my 52 A I believe that’s what you describe? I think the loop might be part of the nut and you would just put a regular nut on instead handy for chains I suppose

Post a picture of your rims and tractor. No idea if you’re talking about the low model or the high model. 2 different tractors with different rims.

What size are your tractors rear tires/rims? See photo below.

Sounds like double bevel rims. Some pictures and the tire size might help.

Loop style rims are not the same.

Google double bevel rims, they were very common in that era. They look to be readily available either new or salvage yards should have them. I bought a couple used ones in the past for my 70 & also the 720 I had.

If you get them out of a bone yard, just make sure they're for a number series, not a letter series like a G or A. They're different.

Don’t worry about it being on the john Deere forum, there is all kinds of people here that know rims. The low 60 has 30” rims. , while the high 60 has 38” rims like the Farmall tractors. Just need the info and of course pictures are the best . Would be double bevel. Rims are not specific to just one tractor.

No need to go to the John Deere Forum for the rims. Give us the tire size and good pictures of what you have. Tx Jim showed some they used and there were others 26", 30", 38", and 42". tire width also changes the rim needed in a given diameter.

Adding your general location to your profile might help narrow suggestions to some possible sources of rims near you.

This is my low 60. It has 14.9 x30” tires. The AR used 26” rubber. The high 60’s used the 38”.

I own a John Deere 520...for the soil conditions,the 38" narrow rubber was useless!
I happened to be at an auction,and purchased two 30" rims,with Tires 18.4 X 30 and cast centers...supposedly off a JD 3010 or 30210.
Installed the above assembly's on my 520.
Had to use the TAPERED Wedges from the 520.

Sounds like you are describing a Double Bevel Rim.. If so you can find them all over the place from AG parts places.
